D-Day 80: Captain Harry Illing's own words

Captain Harry Illing was the commander of A Company of the 2nd Battalion, Royal Warwickshire Regiment. He landed on Sword Beach at 09:55 BST on June 6,1944.   Harry’s colleagues took part in the attack at Lebisey Wood. On June 18 1944, he wrote a report of his experience of D-Day and the following days. His grandson Rob has brought his grandfather's words to life as told to ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ CWR Richard Williams.
