Tolkien immortalised at Pembroke College

Available for over a year

When it comes to creating fantasy worlds, they do not get much bigger than JRR Tolkien who gave us Middle Earth, Hobbits, and epic quests for rings of power. He spent most of his adult life in Oxford writing and teaching. For years supporters have been trying to organise a memorial to him at his old college. It has finally been unveiled by a member of his family. David Allard went to Pembroke College for the unveiling and spoke to those behind the memorial. Image: Nicholas Posner
