Plimsoll, the man who saved lives at sea

All About Bristol

Available for over a year

This year is the 200th birthday of the man who created the ‘Plimsoll Line’. He was born in Redcliffe in 1824 and saved the lives of many seafarers by legislating for better safety measures on ships. This included the line which showed when a ship was over loaded and likely to sink. ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Bristol’s Andy Bennett spoke to Gill who’s a big Plimsoll enthusiast.
