Investigations are ongoing in the United States after former US President Donald Trump was shot during a campaign rally over the weekend. Mr Trump has said he is “fine” after he was “shot with a bullet that pierced the upper part of my right ear.” The former president was speaking at a campaign rally at Butler Park Showground in Pennsylvania when shots rang out. He was quickly surrounded by Secret Service agents before being whisked away from the stage. One attendee was killed and two others critically injured. The 20-year-old gunman was also killed. But the Secret Service has come under scrutiny for not having prevented the would-be assassin from firing his shots. Newsday's Tom Hagler spoke to Timothy Miller, a former Secret Service agent. He says there was "failure after failure" at the event, and that an assassination was a "hair's width" away.
