The English Trader: Cromer’s most famous rescue

Secret Norfolk

Available for over a year

In the long 200 year history of the RNLI, perhaps the most celebrated lifeboatman of all is Norfolk’s very own Henry Blogg. He served on the Cromer lifeboat for an astonishing 53 years from 1894 until 1947. The most famous rescue in which he took part was that of the crew of the English Trader in October 1941. Paul Hayes has been through the archives to discover what happened. (Photo credit: Martin Barber/ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½)
