Mary Wollstonecraft is perhaps best known as the mother of Mary Shelley, creator of Frankenstein. She died 11 days after her daughter's birth, aged 38. She's also regarded as being a founding feminist philosopher, known for her 1792 text, 'A Vindication of the Rights of Woman'. She spent her early years in the East Yorkshire town of Beverley. Sally Fairfax discovers the last surviving house she lived in.
