Dorothy Mackaill was born in Sculcoates in 1903 and attended Thoresby primary school, where a blue plaque is dedicated to her. She starred in many silent and early 'talkie' Hollywood films, a number of which have been since lost. Sally Fairfax finds out about her life. PIC: Getty
