Even though the Paris 2024 surfing competition is being held almost 10,000 miles away from the French capital in Tahiti, the International Surfing Association President Fernando Aguerre says the “Olympic spirit is alive”. Aguerre tells Sportsworld’s Lee James about the legendary Teahupo’o wave in Tahiti and what can be expected from the Olympic competition which makes surfing “the wildest sport” and surfers become “almost like animals”.
