The subterranean tunnels that lie under Liverpool

Hidden Merseyside

Available for over a year

Beneath Liverpool lies an intriguing labyrinth of underground passages. The Williamson Tunnels are a series of extensive subterranean excavations in the Edge Hill area of Liverpool.  Created by Joseph Williamson in the early 19th century, these tunnels have stood the test of time and are now a heritage site where you can take a guided tour through a section of the network of tunnels and view exhibitions that depict the life and times of one of Liverpool's most eccentric characters.
