Billericay statue ‘might not be found’

Available for over a year

A 'much loved' sculpture has disappeared from a public garden in Billericay. The ‘Child in the Park’ sculpture was previously taken from Lake Meadows in 2017, and was later found in a wheelbarrow and reinstalled. The figure of a crouching child surrounded by creatures and plants was designed by Essex sculptor John Doubleday. Andy Barnes is a Conservative councillor for Billericay East on Basildon Borough Council, and is concerned the artwork 'may never be found'. Picture credit: Elliot Deady/ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½.
