Non-contact American football grows in popularity

Available for over a year

The South Coast Spitfires is an American flag football team for boys and girls aged 7-17 in the Southampton area. Their aim is to encourage children to join in, have fun and play in a safe and friendly environment. Flag football is a non-contact version of American football where players wear flags on their belts and defenders remove the flags to make tackles. It is now one of the fastest growing sports in the UK, with Great Britain hoping to qualify a team for Los Angeles Olympics in 2028. ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ reporter Helen Head went to meet the South Coast Spitfires at one of their training sessions in Eastleigh.
