The West End's hidden green retreat: The Phoenix Garden

London Uncovered

Available for over a year

Just metres from the noise and chaos of the West End, with it's tourists and theatregoers, is an enchanting oasis of green. Hidden on a slither of land behind the Phoenix Theatre, you'll find the Phoenix Garden, which has been there in some form for around 900 years. It's survived the ever-expanding development of London around it, and has even made a come-back after a brief spell as a car park. Now, it's Covent Garden's last community run outdoor space, and is open for people to explore is winding paths and unusual tropical plants. ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio London's Ross Ryan has been to visit this hidden green retreat buried in the West End.
