How Guy Fawkes’ lantern ended up in Oxford

Available for over a year

On the 5th of November 1605, Guy Fawkes and his co-conspirators failed in their ‘gunpowder plot’ to blow up the House of Lords and change the course of history. More than four hundred years later, the very lantern he was caught with still survives today and is on display at the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford. Xa Sturgis, the Director of the Museum, tells its story.
