50 years after the Birmingham Pub Bombings, Bernie Mintz recalls the night he decided to go and see his girlfriend after work instead of go for a drink. He was at the door of the Tavern in the Town when he remembered his girlfriend’s voice the night before asking him to go and see her, so he turned round and ran for a bus. The bomb went off as he stepped onto the bus just moments later.
