Sewage floods 'every time it rains'

Available for over a year

A Long Itchington woman has told ѿý CWR that she's facing sewage flooding into her garden and house every time there's heavy rain. Hayley Cosgrove claims that her housing association are ignoring her requests to fix a problem which is causing the repeated sewage floods in her back garden and bathroom. She's lived at the property on Southam Road for two years. Orbit Housing Assocation says: "(We) can confirm that we visited the property but saw no sign of flooding. Please let us know if you need any more information." Regarding previous complaints, they told the ѿý “The welfare of customers is our priority. Ms Cosgrove shared images with us in April 2024 to raise concerns regarding the drainage at the property. We contacted Severn Trent on her behalf, as they are responsible for the main shared drainage system servicing her home. It is our understanding from Ms Cosgrove that Severn Trent identified and completed a repair. We advised Ms Cosgrove to contact Severn Trent directly should she experience any further issues. “Our Area Inspectors have visited the property six times since the images from April were shared with us, during which no further evidence of flooding was shared or identified. To provide further reassurance to Ms Cosgrove, we attended on 12th November to remove debris from a gully drain and have scheduled a further independent CCTV survey of the boundary pipe that we are responsible for. We have also continued to liaise with Severn Trent on her behalf. “We are committed to supporting Ms Cosgrove and remain in regular contact. We encourage her to contact us with any questions or concerns she may have.”
