Colchester Hospital is ‘overcapacity’

Available for over a year

The boss of Colchester Hospital says planned surgery is going ahead, despite being overcapacity as a result of a spike in flu cases and other winter viruses. Consequently, a number of patients are being cared for in corridors and other non-clinical areas. Chief Executive Nick Hulme says there are currently no plans 'to shut down' its elective programmes..
