Will BCP Council join the devolved Wessex council area?

Available for over a year

Dorset Council could become part of a super council with a mayor, like those in Manchester and London. It comes after the Government published it's Devolution White Paper, with the aim of putting some decisions in the hands of regional authorities. There is also talk of whether BCP Council will join the Wessex Council, given the prohibition of so-called 'island councils'. Carl Ashwin spoke to Nick Ireland, leader of Dorset Council, and Vikki Slade, Lib Dem MP for Mid Dorset and North Poole, and former BCP Council leader.
