Pip Hare: 'I just can't walk away from it'

The Poole-based sailor set off in her 60ft yacht on 10 November 2024 in a bid to become the first woman to sail around the world for a second time. Tragically, the 50-year-old suffered a dismast about 800 nautical miles south of Australia on the 16 December 2024. On the 28 December 2024 she landed in Australia, having constructed a make-shift rig to replace the broken mast. Pip spoke to ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Solent's Steve Harris, sharing her renewed aspirations and explaining what went wrong.
