Luton Vauxhall site could be bought by council

Available for over a year

The offer came after it was announced the vehicle manufacturing plant is to close. Hazel Simmons, the Labour leader of Luton Borough Council, says they want control over redevelopment of the site. The site has been making vehicles since 1905 and was a major employer in the town. Interview by Sam Read. Photo: Getty Images.
