County Durham bird flu 'hugely worrying' for farmers

Available for over a year

Bird keepers in Darlington have been given new restrictions to help tackle and stop the spread of bird flu. It comes a fortnight after farmers in North Yorkshire were told to take extra precautions after the county was upgraded to a "higher risk" area for the disease. The risk to humans remains low, and chicken and eggs are safe to eat if properly cooked - but it can be devastating for our local farmers. Rachel Teate spoke to Harry Hodgson, the owner of Piercebridge farm in Darlington.
