How The Stones, Tom Jones and U2 came to Kiddy

Secret Worcestershire

Available for over a year

These incredible acts rocked out Kidderminster Town Hall on their way to superstardom, with The Who and The Hollies playing on Vicar Street three times apiece! Alongside Frank Freeman's Dance Club, the Town Hall cemented the carpet town's reputation as a place to see live music in the 1960s & 70s, with Tom Jones, Cilla Black and The Walker Brothers playing to crowds who queued around the block. Andrew Marston showcases the history of the venue, with John Combes, the regular gig-goer who was so inspired by what he saw, he wrote the book, Get Your Kicks on the A456, and ended up booking bands for the venue when it fell on quieter times.
