“I had internalised the abuse for seven years”
Available for over a year
Victims of domestic abuse can find it incredibly difficult to speak out and find help, and people from different countries or faiths can find that cultural barriers make finding support even harder. Ruth Mojisola Obasa, who's originally from Nigeria but now lives in Witney, faced this exact challenge during her own experience of abuse. She founded the charity Jewins Women2Women to help those going through the same thing and has launched training and a book to help organisations respond better to these kinds of situations. Ruth spoke to our reporter Stuart Rust to share the story of her own abusive relationship. Photo Credit: Layla Bird
