Down to earth advice on growing your own fruit and vegetables with allotment gardener Terry Walton, from his plot in the Rhondda Valley. After a dry start to Spring, the soil is dry with no sign of April showers so far. Terry explains the importance and challenge of capturing rain water. It's time for the young sweet pea plants to be planted out, the canes are in place and tied in place with in with Terry's inspired knot skills. The bed is wrapped in mesh to create a VIP zone and protect the young plants from the cooler winds. Back in the greenhouse it's time to sow some winter vegetables, with the fine seeds of leeks and Brussels sprouts taking their place on a warm shelf.
