The John Rylands Library in Manchester has opened a new Collections Gallery showcasing over 40 rare and fascinating items from its unique holdings. This new gallery, inaugurated in May 2025, highlights the library's history from its founding in 1889 to the present day. Alongside the Collections Gallery, the library also opened a new special exhibition gallery featuring "The Secret Public: LGBTQ Pop 1955-1985", exploring the influence of LGBTQ performers, artists, and activists on popular culture. ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Manchester's Cathy Baily spoke to manuscript curator and archivist Dr Elizabeth Gow.
