69. May - Tomato/Potato

Terry Walton's Plotcast

Available for over a year

Down to earth advice on growing your own fruit and vegetables with allotment gardener Terry Walton, from his plot in the Rhondda Valley. In the greenhouse the tomato plants are starting to flower and the first truss has formed so it's time to feed them once a week. The pumpkin plant is ready to take it's place in last year's covered compost heap where it will draw all the nutrients it needs to form the best, biggest pumpkins for the autumn. And it's time for all 32 of Terry's sweetcorn plants to go out onto the plot, arranged in block to make sure they all pollinate. If you have a question about your own crops, you can e mail AskTerry@bbc.co.uk and send a photo if it helps Producer: Lynda Shahwan
