71. June - Jumpers for beans

Terry Walton's Plotcast

Available for over a year

Down to earth advice on growing your own fruit and vegetables with allotment gardener Terry Walton, from his plot in the Rhondda Valley. After some much needed rain, the plot is looking full now that June is here. Some of the night temperatures have been a little cool, but Terry has tried a new method to protect the young beans. It's time to feed the onions with chicken pellets, to make sure they produce their best. And it's time to harvest the first of the new potatoes from their pots, making sure not to disturb the plant too much to ensure it continues to produce more. If you have a question about your own crops, e mail AskTerry@bbc.co.uk, and if it helps, attach a photo Producer: Lynda Shahwan
