75. July- Mystery Melon or surprising squash?

Terry Walton's Plotcast

Available for over a year

Down to earth advice on growing your own fruit and vegetables with allotment gardener Terry Walton, from his plot in the Rhondda Valley. It's time to put collars on the young leeks to ensure they develop enough of a white shank and develop the best flavour. And although it's only just July the garlic is already dying back so it's time to pull it out of the ground and make sure it's stored in a dry place. And a mystery is developing at the bottom of the plot - Terry thought he'd been given a pumpkin seed but the plant that's developing looks more like a melon so far. If you have a question about your own plot e mail AskTerry@bbc.co.uk, and if it helps, attach a photo Producer: Lynda Shahwan
