Coventry hod carrier's 214 peak challenge

Available for over a year

Nigel is no stranger to carrying his hod full of bricks whilst taking on challenges which have included; completing the Three Peaks Challenge, a marathon, a coast-to-coast walk of Hadrian's Wall as well as climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, in Tanzania. This feat has seen Nigel climb all 214 Wainwrights, which are the fells described in Alfred Wainwright's book Pictorial Guide to the Lakeland Fell, all whilst carrying the hod of bricks, which weighs nearly 5 stones (30kg) on one shoulder for 100 steps, before swapping to the other shoulder. He took on the challenge to raise money for the Mind Over Mountains charity, which promotes good mental health and improved access to the outdoors, saying the mountains 'have been a saviour' for his mental health. He told ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ CWR's Vic Minett about his delight and relief to have finished the mission.
