Bill Walton: The life of an NBA legend

Not by the Playbook

Available for over a year

Bill Walton was an NBA legend, who played for the Portland Trail Blazers, San Diego/Los Angeles Clippers and Boston Celtics. He also had a crucial role in enabling the Lithuanian basketball team to compete at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, by introducing them to rock band The Grateful Dead. Lori Walton talks to Joel Hammer about her late husband's basketball career, and why she marked the first anniversary of his death with a lantern ceremony in Hawaii. She recalls the warmth he showed people, and his love of history and political causes.
