The old girl of Avoncroft

Secret Worcestershire

Available for over a year

The Danzey Green Mill is a 200-year-old marvel, the only one of its kind in the West Midlands, and was transported across the border, from Warwickshire to Worcestershire in 1969. The post mill is different to typical windmills, with only one central post, which the sides of the building revolve around, ensuring the sails get the best of the wind. Malcolm Boyden takes an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour with the Bromsgrove-based museum's director Zoe Williams, after Danzey Green turned its sails once again, following a six year lull whilst renovations took place.
