In the early morning hours of 13 November 2022, four students from the University of Idaho were stabbed to death in their off-campus residence after a night out in the small town of Moscow. When police arrived at lunch time the next day, they found the bodies of roommates Madison Mogen, Kaylee Goncalves and Xana Kernodle, and Xana's boyfriend Ethan Chapin. Two other roommates survived uninjured, and no weapon was found.
