Sixways' East Stand to be renamed after Cecil

Worcester Warriors

Available for over a year

The former owner's name will live on, etched in to the stadium for years to come. Christopher Holland, Executive Chairman of Worcester Warriors, says it was the 'natural thing to do', following discussions with Beatrice Duckworth, who has an open invitation to the first full game of the Champ season. Also hear from Toby Porter, former Chief Executive of Acorns Children's Hospice, who knew the late Cecil Duckworth well. Cecil Duckworth founded Worcester Bosch. His philanthropy helped with the creation of Acorns Children's Hospice, and Warriors became a top-flight club under his ownership. He was actively involved with the club from 1997, taking them into the Premiership in 2004. He stepped down as chairman in 2015 to become club president, and passed away in 2020.
