Not All Young People in Birkenhead Are Bad

Make a Difference: Merseyside

Available for over a year

Meet The Hive Ambassadors, finalists for the Make a Difference Community Award 2025. The Hive Ambassadors are a group of young people who have shown exceptional leadership, dedication, and a commitment to improving the lives of others. Over the past seven years, they have tackled issues such as food insecurity, period poverty, homelessness, environmental concerns, and intergenerational projects, creating lasting change in their community. One of their standout initiatives was an intergenerational project, where they brought young people to local care homes to organise activities and then invited residents to a tea party at The Hive Youth Zone. This project broke down barriers and changed outdated perceptions about young people, showing the power of connection across generations. Despite some members having additional needs, the ambassadors have demonstrated extraordinary teamwork, resilience, and creativity. Their passion, determination, and ability to drive meaningful social change prove that age is no barrier to making a difference in the world.
