Meet Paula, a finalist for the Make a Difference Green Award 2025. Earth Moves is Paula’s community growing project on Wirral that uses horticulture to tackle social issues and promote healing. Drawing on her own experience as a domestic abuse survivor, she transformed abandoned market gardens into a biodiverse haven where people can take part in eco-workshops, grow food, and enjoy community meals. Paula welcomes volunteers from all walks of life, fostering inclusion, mental wellbeing, and environmental care. Her work revitalises the gardens, supports local pollinators, and strengthens the Merseyside community.
