Meet Huyton ABC, a finalist for the Make a Difference Awards Active Award 2025. For 50 years, this volunteer-run boxing club has been at the heart of the Huyton community, using sport to transform young lives. Over 50 members — from schoolboys and girls to seniors — train three times a week in a safe and supportive environment. The club goes beyond teaching boxing skills, instilling discipline, building confidence, and promoting positive lifestyle choices that keep young people away from anti-social behaviour. They work closely with local schools, the police, and fire services to raise awareness of knife crime and other community issues.
