Mitch Winehouse - Reflections on Amy

Listed Londoner

Available for over a year

Mitch Winehouse, father of Amy, was born in 1950 in Stoke Newington and grew up in the East End. For many years he was a London Taxi driver, and he moonlights a jazz vocalist. Following Amy’s death, he founded the Amy Winehouse foundation, which helps young people make informed choices about drugs and alcohol, and gives women a place to recover from addition. To mark what would have been Amy’s 42nd birthday, Mitch Winehouse has been speaking to Robert Elms about Amy’s legacy, the work of the foundation, her enduring appeal, and the criticism he has received over the years. He also answers the famous 15 Listed Londoner questions. We have also released an interview from our archive where Mitch and Amy become Listed Londoners together in 2006.
