Trudi Roscouet is one of the baton carriers for the 2025 Baton of Hope. This was started in 2021 by a group of bereaved dad's who experienced the loss of their sons. They carried a shiny baton, similar to the olympic torch, around the UK - as a physical symbol of mental health and wellbeing. It's aim was to challenge stigma and start conversations around suicide, with the hope that this will lead to fewer people taking their own lives. Now in 2025, its back and will be carried around 20 places in the British isles, by people who've experienced suicide bereavement. Jersey is the 16th stop on the baton tour and on Sunday it will arrive in the island and be carried from Albert Quay to Corbiere lighthouse. In this interview she talks about breaking taboos, menopause, and how she lost 3 male friends to suicide in the last 6 months. if you are affected by any of the issues discussed there is support available at ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Action Line.
