US President Donald Trump carried out a very public campaign to win this year’s Nobel Peace Prize but lost out to Venezuelan democracy campaigner Maria Corina Machado. Trump is seen as the architect of the peace process unfolding between Israel and Hamas for Gaza and by the president’s count, he has ended at least seven wars, though his actual involvement in some of them is disputed.
