'How I tend the hallowed turf of Sixways'

Worcester Warriors

Available for over a year

Groundsman Jeff Green tended the pitch even whilst the club went bust. Speaking with pride, he says the ground has come alive again since the return of professional men's rugby. Jeff tells Malcolm Boyden how he keeps the 3G pitch pristine for two sports, with Worcester City FC playing home games at Sixways. He shares how the grass requires an hour's worth of maintenance for every ten hours of play. He says the pre-match routine includes raking, brushing and sweeping the surface, with the rugby posts being added on the day of play.
