The singer and actress Paloma Faith was born in Hackney in 1981 and grew up in Dalston. She has a degree in Contemporary Dance, and a masters in Theatre Directing. Before launching her career she had an eclectic range of part-time jobs, including as a sales assistant at Agent Provocateur, a singer in a burlesque cabaret, a life model, and a hip-hop dancer. Paloma’s career took off around 2007 when she appeared in the film reboot of St Trinian's; she was signed as a singer in 2008. To date, she’s released six studio albums and in 2015 she won a Brit for Best British Female Solo Artist.
