US President Donald Trump has offered condolences at the Pennsylvania synagogue where 11 Jewish worshippers were shot dead at the weekend. The senior rabbi at the Synagogue, Jeffrey Myers, said that he and his congregation were glad of the presidential visit. But some local Jewish groups have not been as welcoming. A political crisis is unfolding in Sri Lanka over who should be the country's Prime Minister. On Tuesday, thousands of protesters took to the streets in the capital, Colombo, to show their support for the ousted Prime Minister, Ranil Wickremesinghe. A former Al Shabab commander is running for the office of regional president in Somalia. Mukhtar Robow has officially defected from the islamist insurgent movement, but he is still wanted by the US.
