DRCongo: One Million People Cannot Vote In Sunday's Elections

Newsday

Available for over a year

The President of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Joseph Kabila, has insisted that the exclusion of three regions from Sunday's long-awaited presidential election will not prevent the result being declared. Two military bases in north east of Nigeria are reported to have been overrun by a faction of Boko Haram. The human rights organisation, Amnesty International, says dozens of people in Sudan have been shot dead by security forces during the demonstrations.
