Final IS fighters holed up in Syrian village of Baghuz

Newsday

Available for over a year

A convoy of about 15 trucks has evacuated some of the remaining civilians from Baghuz - a town in the east of the country, close to the border with Iraq. The US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces, which have surrounded the town, said that some civilians and jihadists were still inside. Three British MPs have left the governing Conservative Party to join an independent group set up by MPs who recently defected from the opposition Labour Party. And we go to the Nigerian Capital Abuja to see how voters are preparing to go to the polls. Presidential elections were pushed back at the last minute and will now take place this Saturday.
