President Trump has said he hopes a proposed second summit with his Russian counterpart will help bring what he called the inglorious war between Russia and Ukraine to an end. It follows what he described as a very productive two-hour phone call with Vladimir Putin. Mr Trump is due to meet Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House later on Friday, who's expected to urge the US President to sell his country long-range Tomahawk missiles. John Bolton, the man who served as Donald Trump's national security adviser in the president's first administration before becoming a vocal critic of him, has been criminally indicted on federal charges. The Department of Justice presented a case to a grand jury in Maryland on Thursday, and they agreed there was enough evidence to indict Bolton on charges of mishandling classified information. Bolton has issued a statement maintaining his innocence. He is the third Trump critic to be criminally charged since September. We go to Kenya where the state funeral of the former prime minister, Raila Odinga, is to be held with full military honours. It follows a day in which at least three people died in Kenya after police fired gunshots and tear gas in a stadium where crowds of mourners had gathered to see the body of Mr Odinga.
