State funeral of Raila Odinga

Newsday

Available for 21 days

The state funeral of the former Kenyan prime minister, Raila Odinga, is being held in the national stadium in Nairobi. Thousands of mourners are in attendance, as is a large security presence following the chaotic scenes at his lying-in-state on Thursday when three people were killed. The ѿý's Anne Soy is at the stadium for us. President Trump has said he hopes a proposed second summit with his Russian counterpart will help bring what he called the inglorious war between Russia and Ukraine to an end. It follows what he described as a very productive two-hour phone call with Vladimir Putin. Mr Trump is due to meet Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House later on Friday, who's expected to urge the US President to sell his country long-range Tomahawk missiles. We go live to Kyiv. And we hear how people are trying to rebuild their lives in Gaza following the negotiated ceasefire there. Presenters: James Copnall and Krupa Padhy.
