US confident Gaza ceasefire will hold

Newsday

Available for 28 days

The US Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, has expressed confidence that the Gaza ceasefire will hold. He's visiting Israel to bolster President Trump's peace plan. Mr Trump has issued a new warning against Israel annexing the occupied West Bank after a vote in Israel’s parliament this week. We speak to our correspondent Yolande Knell in Jerusalem. Doctors at Gaza’s Nasser Hospital say the bodies of Palestinians returned by Israel under a US-backed ceasefire deal show signs of torture and abuse, and that a lack of resources is making it difficult to identify who they were. And from Cameroon we hear from the opposition politician who has declared himself the winner of the country's recent election.
