Aid trucks enter Gaza

Weekend

Available for 8 days

Dozens of trucks have begun to enter Gaza with much-needed aid for hundreds of thousands of Palestinians, as they return to neighbourhoods devastated by two years of war. UNICEF's spokesperson, James Elder, told Weekend that residents fear that if the ceasefire doesn't hold, issues including child malnutrition and trauma will leave permanent damage. Also in the programme: free speech in US universities; and a new film about the civil war in Sudan. Joining presenter Paul Henley are Julie Norman, associate professor of politics and international relations at University College London, and the play and screenwriter Ntombizodwa Nyoni.
