President Samia Suluhu Hassan has been declared the winner of Tanzania's election - with almost ninety- eight percent of the vote. Most rivals were prevented from taking part, triggering days of violent unrest. The opposition says hundreds of protesters have been killed by the security forces. Also in the programme, in the Caribbean one of the most intense storms ever to make landfall, Hurricane Melissa, is now dissipating northwards after leaving a trail of destruction. It devastated parts of Jamaica and Cuba and drenched Haiti with rain, killing about fifty people. And Egypt is officially opening a new museum housing tens of thousands of artefacts from its ancient civilization. Overlooking the Giza Pyramids, the Grand Egyptian Museum includes a complete collection of treasures from the tomb of the boy king Tutankhamun.
