The International Court of Justice has said Israel was in breach of its duty under international law when it blocked aid to Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. Giving an advisory opinion, the court said that as an occupying power, Israel was under an obligation to allow and facilitate aid, and it must not use starvation as a method of war.
