COVAX initiative update

Africa Life Clinic

Available for over a year

COVAX vaccines have started to arrive in parts of the continent, as frontline workers and the elderly are the first to receive their vaccines. But the rollout differs across the continent. Tanzania and Burundi have said they will not sign up to the Covax initiative. In contrast Rwanda has been vaccinating many people, including prisoners classed as vulnerable, alongside frontline workers. Rhoda Odhiambo discusses the vaccine rollout in Africa with Priscilla Ngethe, including the potential future need for vaccine passports. (Picture: COVAX Vaccines arriving in Ivory Coast.
